Halls - Big Bad Wolf (2004)

In 2004, Halls (you know, everybody's favorite nasal decongestant menthol cough drops?) decided to do a retelling of the classic "Three Little Pigs" fairy tale, but with an interesting (assumed) twist at the end.

Halls - Big Bad Wolf (2004)
While not technically mascots per se (Halls only used this campaign one time for a short period in 2004), the use of the "wolf-man" and the "pigs" qualifies this as some of the "other" anthropomorphic animals of the world.  The makeup FX and editing technique made this one of the Crittersphere's favorites through the years.

Enjoy this unlikely pairing of classic fairy tales, modern-day FX appliances and cough drops!

Stay tooned!

Cheesasaurus Rex: 2008-09

Cheesasaurus Rex, Kraft's unmistakable orange cheese-powder colored, mac-loving dinosaur got his share of spots during the waning 00's.  A revival of sorts, having not been prominently featured in many advertisements in a while, Cheesasaurus is simply hard to deny when put in to the right situations.

The first three spots are some of the best.  The directors were really being creative when they concocted the situations Cheesasaurus Rex finds himself in - taking advantage of the fact that this character has a personality...  and it loves to get sprayed with cheese sauce and macaroni once in a while!

"Mac-O-Matic" (2008)
Plays out like a crazy Rube Goldberg device, with the clear winner being our cheesy dino.

"Hunt For The Cheese" / "Ice Fishin'" (2009)
A double-shot (15 seconds a piece) - Cheesasaurus sticks his nose in some doors until...  (spoiler alert:  he finds cheese), and fishes up some fun in the 2nd half.

The fourth spot is sort of a throw-away, for "completists" only, if you will, as about half of the spot contains information about a current contest at the time.  It's still fun to see Cheesasaurus "go wild."

"Go Wild" (2008)

That's all the cheesiness I can take for one post!  Keep your eyes peeled for some more Cheesasaurus Rex and his retro buddies coming soon to a Crittersphere near you!
